Lake Atitlan was the most peaceful place I have ever been. It is supposed to have been a sacred place to the Maya, who still live there today. It was formed thousands of years ago when a massive volcano exploded, leading to steep slopes and a deep lake. Travel is mostly by boat, and the lake is guarded by three volcanos. Hurrican Stan in 2006 did a lot of damage, but I did not see this.
This could be considered a photomanipulation, because I did extensive work on the color and tone of the image. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
